My 4-year-old grips the little banana-shaped ones way better than the standard stick crayons, and the color actually shows up on dark construction paper. Nothing has snapped in half yet, which is more than I can say for our last set.
The fruit shapes are a huge hit at our house — my daughter grabs the little strawberry one every single time. They lay down color way smoother than the waxy drugstore kind, and I like that it's just beeswax with no paraffin.
My toddler used to snap regular crayons in half within minutes, but these beeswax ones hold up way better and the color goes down really smooth on thick poster paper. No waxy smell either, which I appreciate since she sometimes chews on them.
